Training
Wanneroo trains at the Wanneroo Primary School oval every Monday and Thursday during season with the exception of public holidays and for 2 weeks over Christmas/New Year.
Please ensure that you check the facebook page if the weather is off as this is how we advise of cancellations.
Under no circumstances are parents of athletes under 12 years of age to drop and run.
We encourage and would love parent support and assistance at training. We are all volunteers and your help makes our job that much easier.
Please make sure you remember drink bottles, suncream and hats.
Spikes/Waffles
Spike rules for WA Little Athletics events
(i) Shoes are compulsory for all events.
(ii) Only shoes that are not capable of taking spikes will be allowed for
competition in the U7 to U10 age groups in all events.
All athletes U11 and above who wish to wear spikes need to see Emily, Shane or Clay at training to obtain a spikes licence
Please ensure the following rules are adhered to:
a) Spikes will be carried with the sole facing inwards or in a bag to prevent accidental injury
b) Spikes should not be worn until the athlete is on the track or site - they should be carried to the event
c) Spikes should be taken off as soon as the event is complete before the athlete leaves the track or field event
d) If any athlete is found to be in breach of any of the above rules, their spikes privilege will be revoked by a centre official for 1 week
For a guide to the appropriate Spike please see the picture below. Additionally for further information on any LAWA rules - click the link below.
